5 Weight Loss Motivation Tips

by admin on January 18, 2013

When it comes to weight loss, staying motivated will help you achieve your goal. The same strategies don’t work for everyone, but with this assortment of weight loss motivation tips you’re sure to find one or two to help keep you on track.

The first of my weight loss motivation tips is to make a list of your most common reasons why you go off your diet. These reasons are often nothing more than excuses we use to justify why we are going to eat whatever we want. The thing is, what we really want is to lose weight.

At the bottom of the list, in big letters what write what you really want. “To Lose Weight.”Post this list where you can see it…like on the refrigerator.

Weight Loss Tip 2:  Don’t be too hard on yourself when you fail.

We are human after all, and many times when we blow it, we go off our diet for days, weeks or even months. All because we had a bad day. Don’t let one setback throw you off track. Get back on your diet and dare to reach for your goal.

Weight Loss Tip 3:  When the munchies strike, be prepared. Have healthy snacks on hand instead of junk food.

Another thing I try to do is get up and move around for ten minutes before I eat a snack. Often the urge to eat goes away.

Weight Loss Tip 4:  If the scale discourages you, stay off it. This tip is for those people whose diet lives and dies by the number on the scale. Instead, weigh every six weeks or so.

Weight Loss Tip 5:  Set achievable weight loss goals. We’ll look more at this another time.  What goals you set can make the difference between motivation and frustration. The key is to set achievable realistic goals that encourage you to keep going.

If you have weight loss motivation tips you’d like to share, please leave a comment. You may hold the secret to help someone lose that unwanted weight!
